The Kendra Smith Scholarship honors the legacy of Kendra Tennille Rayner Smith, a beloved First Nation Group employee and passionate healthcare advocate.

Through this scholarship, we celebrate her dedication to serving others and supporting aspiring healthcare professionals in their educational journeys.

Scholarship Overview

The First Nation Group Foundation is committed to fostering educational opportunities that inspire meaningful careers. The Kendra Smith Scholarship provides a renewable $10,000 annual award to outstanding high school seniors from Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, or Tennessee who are dedicated to pursuing careers in healthcare.

  • Award Amount: $10,000 per year, renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned
  • Eligibility: High school seniors planning to pursue full-time undergraduate study in healthcare fields at accredited U.S. colleges or universities

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Plan to pursue a degree in healthcare (e.g. Medical, Clinical or Administrative Healthcare, Public Health)
  • Enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year U.S. institution for the upcoming academic year
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale


*Children of First Nation Group, LLC and The First Nation Group Foundation are ineligible.

Who was Kendra Tennille Rayner Smith?

Kendra Tennille Rayner Smith devoted her life to healthcare, serving Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) customers and team members with compassion and dedication. As a licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT) and healthcare administrator, Kendra was committed to empowering others through knowledge and service. Her legacy of learning, giving, and caring lives on through the Kendra Smith Scholarship.
