In a season full of thanks, we’re proud to shine our November Employee Spotlight on Matt McCay, our dedicated Inside Sales Representative! Matt brings a solutions-driven mindset to his role, consistently supporting his teammates, community, and customers with enthusiasm, integrity, and a positive attitude that inspires everyone around him.
Outside of work, Matt brings that same kindness and commitment to everything he does. Whether he’s cooking, watching sports, golfing, or enjoying a good movie, he approaches life with energy and passion.

We strive to inspire excellence and teamwork. Tell us about a time that you felt inspired at First Nation Group.
I was truly inspired to be part of the USA Para Bobsled and Skeleton National Championships in Lake Placid, NY, as well as the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Minneapolis, MN. I met some amazing people. One moment that really stood out was when para bobsled athlete and Veteran, Austin Parker, won a medal at the NVWG and asked Julie and me to present it to his kids on stage. In that moment, I felt so proud and inspired to be part of First Nation Group.
What is a quote or affirmation you live by?
Listen with the intent to understand, not with the intent to reply. And when you respond, are you grabbing the gas or the water?
Do you have a charity that is near and dear to your heart? Who and why?
Pleasant Green United Methodist Church. I grew up in this church and I love them like family!
What First Nation Group core value do you align with most?
Be mission-driven. What motivates me most about being part of First Nation Group is the opportunity to support our Veterans. Being mission-driven is at the core of everything we do – whether it’s finding solutions for Veterans within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, participating in volunteer events, or engaging in our community. Knowing that our purpose is to serve inspires me every day to stay dedicated and committed to our mission.
What is your biggest takeaway from your time at First Nation Group?
Cheryl Nilsson, Founder and Owner, has built a mission driven family here, and I am so proud to be a part of it!
