#FeelGoodFriday | BIG News from Our Charitable Giving Partners!
First Nation Group is proud to support charitable organizations that make a difference in their local communities. We recently visited our friends in Detroit, MI, at Loyola High School and the Samaritan Center, where we had the chance to chat with ARISE Detroit!, Dominican Literacy Center, Jackets for Jobs, and Chandler Park Conservancy. We’re excited to share a few updates about upcoming charitable giving events with and recent support for these amazing organizations that are sure to give you all kinds of warm fuzzies this #FeelGoodFriday!
Kicking off with a donation to ARISE Detroit! for their upcoming food drive on Thursday, April20th. We’re excited to help make their event at the Samaritan Center, in partnership with Destined for Greatness, a fantastic success. #TOGETHERSTRONG, the Ann Arbor Local Challenge team is looking forward to joining in and making a real difference for the 300 families being served at this food distribution event!

Next, let’s have a round of applause for Dominican Literacy Center. As of January, they have over 200 students enrolled in their adult/continuing education program. This number is sure to grow as they continue to host student orientation the second Thursday of each month. In addition to their tutoring services, Dominican Literacy Center also hosts regularly scheduled social events like career days, yoga classes, and more!
The Dominican Literacy Center has been changing lives for more than 30 years and isn’t stopping any time soon. You can help uplift the community as well – to get involved as a tutor or donate directly to the center, visit www.dlcliteracy.org.
We’re also thrilled to share that the Ann Arbor Local Challenge team has made a donation to Jackets for Jobs to help their team provide specialty work attire including steel-toe boots and work gear for outdoor occupations. Our contribution will help job seekers in the local community of Detroit step into their new careers with confidence, knowing that they are dressed for success and equipped to succeed!
Jackets for Jobs doesn’t only offer professional clothing to job seekers, their team also provides career skills training, interview prep, and employment etiquette. They have helped over 20,000 clients achieve their job seeking goals through their training program since opening in 2000. Amazing! Interested in getting involved? Our friends at Chandler Park Conservancy are ready to celebrate Earth Month too! Their team will be rolling up their sleeves for their Earth Day park clean-up event on Saturday, April 22nd. With multiple summer trip initiatives and a new lacrosse team in the works, Chandler Park Conservancy has created a number of opportunities to engage and uplift the youth of Detroit, starting with a clean park.
Don’t hesitate to get involved – you too can help create a cleaner, greener future while opening avenues of opportunity to inner-city youths! Whether you’re looking to volunteer, participate, or donate, visit www.chandlerparkconservancy.org/support-us to learn more.
Last but not least, let’s celebrate the work being done for young men through Loyola High School’s incredible Work Experience Program (WEP)! Take a moment to learn more about the partnership created with the help of First Nation Group and how we have continued to support students in their path to success.

To say our recent visit with these incredible organizations left us with a lot of “feel good” is an understatement. That’s a feeling we’d like to pass on to everyone, so for this #FeelGoodFriday and in preparation for National Volunteer Month, let’s focus on finding new ways to lift others through giving back!
