First Nation Group Awarded U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Platinum Medallion for 2020
First Nation Group, a company driven by the power of purpose with a focus on Serving. Veterans. First.™, is honored to be one of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award Recipients. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award originated in 2017 with the creation of the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) recognizing company efforts to recruit, employ, and retain Veterans.
“We love having former and active reserve military members on our First Nation Group team,” said Tami Manard, Director of Human Resources for First Nation Group. “These employees bring strong work ethic and commitment as well as vast experience. We appreciate the opportunity to have these individuals work with us – they make valuable contributions to our organization each and every day!”
To qualify for the award, employer-applicants must meet a set of criteria established in the HIRE Vets Act. Based on the criteria met, they are then placed into two tiers: gold and platinum. The measure for qualification is based on a company’s Veteran employee base, employee dedication, retention, and professional development offerings. First Nation Group’s commitment to service and ability to go above and beyond in all areas qualified them to receive the platinum medallion, the highest tier of HIRE Vets Medallion Award.
“Accepting this award is a great honor for me and a testament to First Nation Group’s mission, vision, and values,” said Cheryl Nilsson, Owner and CEO of First Nation Group. “Our staff remains passionate about serving Veterans and making a positive impact on all our nation’s heroes.”
