First Nation Group’s 2025 Summer Internship Program

First Nation Group’s 2025 Summer Internship Program has come to a close, wrapping up a summer filled with learning, growing, and giving.

This 12-week immersive program builds future leaders and innovators while making a meaningful difference in the lives of Veterans and active-duty military personnel. Our interns gain a comprehensive overview of the company, from small business acumen and Government distribution to interdepartmental communication and day-to-day workplace operations.

This summer, First Nation Group welcomed four talented first-year interns – the group worked within our Corporate Development, Distribution and Logistics, and Patient Solutions departments, with the opportunity to engage with all departments at First Nation Group on a rotating basis. First Nation Group is proud to offer a comprehensive internship program to young professionals consisting of the following levels:

First-Year Internship

Our first-year summer internship is an immersive experience where interns engage with each department, providing them the opportunity to gain insight into how and why, as a company, we do what we do. Simultaneously, each intern is designated and reports to a specific department in their area of interest. In this department, a mentor is paired with each intern to help advise and guide them throughout their internship. First-year interns are given a company-wide learning experience, allowing them to develop their skill as a professional while exploring different areas of a business.

Second-Year Internship

Our second-year internship provides returning interns with deeper integration into their area of interest. Also paired with a mentor from their specific department, second-year interns are assigned and execute projects as part of their team. On top of developing skills within their designated department, interns have the opportunity to act as a mentor to all first-year interns as well, expanding their experience as a leader.

Not only do these interns expand their knowledge of business acumen, they continue to strengthen the skills needed to help them succeed in their career.

Continuing First Nation Group’s Mission

To help integrate First Nation Group’s mission of making a positive impact on the lives of the Veterans and active-duty military we serve and the underserved in communities where we live and work, our interns are also given the opportunity to connect with and support nonprofit organizations.

A highlight of this summer was a volunteer day at the Harry Chapin Food Bank, which distributes donated food and groceries to over a quarter of a million people each month in Southwest Florida. Our interns worked alongside other volunteers to sort and pack fresh produce, helping ensure nutritious food reached families in need.

As a part of their Corporate Development department rotation, each intern researched two non-profit organizations, one national and one local. After thoughtful presentations and a team-wide vote, The Literacy Council Gulf Coast, whose mission is to improve English language and reading skills for adults and children throughout Southwest Florida, and Warriors & Quiet Waters, which empowers post-9/11 combat Veterans and their loved ones to thrive through peak experiences in nature and evidence-based programs, were selected as recipients of a donation on behalf of our intern cohort. To make things even sweeter, The Literacy Council Gulf Coast joined us to enjoy a sweet treat and share their mission with our Fort Myers staff at our annual National Ice Cream Day event.

My internship with First Nation Group has vastly strengthened my ability to problem-solve and enhanced my confidence as a young professional. Entering  a career in logistics requires decision-making confidence and the ability to flex and pivot. This opportunity has helped me grow in both areas and will be invaluable as I begin my career.

– Kayden Klepper, Distribution and Logistics Intern
