Kennedy Nilsson

CPT USAR, Chief Operating Officer

Kennedy Nilsson, Chief Operating Officer (COO) for First Nation Group, joined the organization in 2019, bringing years of experience in business analytics, project management, strategy implementation, and more. As a Captain in the United States Army Reserves, Nilsson’s role combines his experience in standardizing operational procedures and overseeing project execution from inception through adoption. In addition, he is a key decision maker in the development and implementation of corporate strategy and oversees special projects related to company operations, new lines of business, contract quality controls, and corporate culture.

During Nilsson’s deployment in 2021 as Platoon Leader and Contract Officer Representative for the 766 Engineer Company, he managed 41 Army construction projects in Jordan, developing project timelines, monitoring contract compliance, inspecting materials, and reporting deficiencies.

Prior to joining First Nation Group, Nilsson spent seven years at Raymond James customizing solutions for clients’ individual needs as a Financial Advisor. Through a combination of Raymond James resources, outside sources, and technical expertise, he identified attractive investment opportunities, helped manage portfolio construction, and conducted ongoing portfolio reviews and analyses to ensure that investment plans were meeting client goals.

Nilsson holds a B.S. and M.S. in Finance from Florida State University. He lives in Fort Myers, Florida, and enjoys biking, kite boarding, growing tropical fruit trees, and home improvement projects.
