First Nation Group’s 2022 Summer Internship Program

“First Nation Group has opened an opportunity and an experience that most other interns may not have.”

– Katelynn Inness, Contracts and Accounting Intern

First Nation Group’s 12-week summer internship program builds future leaders and innovators while making a difference in the lives of Veterans and active-duty military personnel. Our interns are introduced to small business acumen, government distribution, various roles and responsibilities within a workplace environment, and interdepartmental communication workflow. This summer, we welcomed interns into our Patient Solutions, Contracts, Pharmaceuticals Division, Accounting, Distribution/Supply Chain Management, and Corporate Development departments. Our summer internship program is comprehensive, consisting of two levels:

First-Year Summer Internship

Our first-year summer internship is an immersive experience where interns engage with each department, providing them the opportunity to gain insight into how and why, as a company, we do what we do. Simultaneously, each intern is designated and reports to a specific department in their area of interest. In this department, a mentor is paired with each intern to help advise and guide them throughout their internship. First-year interns are given a company-wide learning experience, allowing them to develop their skills as a professional while exploring different areas of business.

Building off First Nation Group’s mission

To help integrate First Nation Group’s focus on making a positive impact on the Veterans and active-duty military personnel we support, our interns are given the opportunity to volunteer in their local communities as well.

Our interns working out of Niceville, FL, cooked and distributed a delicious brunch at Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. Fisher House is a national nonprofit, building comfort homes where military and Veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the local VA hospital.

Our interns working out of Fort Myers, FL, volunteered at the Lee County VA Healthcare Center. The team helped organize food, donated by a local organization, and execute distribution to 110+ Veterans who were there to receive food, clothing, and resources to help support themselves as well as their spouses and/or caregivers.

Looking ahead, our interns will be given opportunities to explore different career paths offered at First Nation Group and deliver insight into our company culture, complete with team building activities and volunteerism. They will support their designated departments and, in their final week, present on their experiences and what they learned in their respective roles.

First Nation Group is proud to continue our summer internship program into 2023. Keep an eye out for all details and learn how to apply at: https://www.firstnationgroup.com/careers
